Terms and conditions for freeze period in SATS
As a Member in SATS you are able to put your membership on hold (Freeze) online via “My page” on our website.
“Freeze” means temporarily pausing the membership for a time-limited period.
You must pay a monthly fee if you create a general freeze period.
You do not need to show any documentation.
If you are in a binding period when the membership is put on hold, the binding period will be extended the number of months the freeze period constitutes.
Exceptions for the general terms and conditions applies in the following cases: serious illness or injury, and for pregnancy.
The freeze period and its length
You can put your membership on hold for 1 or 2 months at a time. The freeze period is calculated in whole months, starting from the first of the following month at the earliest.
Example: On January 15, you would like to freeze your membership. The first possible month in which you can put it on hold will be the month of February.
You can renew the freeze period for an additional freeze fee.
Ordinary freeze cannot be added retroactively.
Freeze fee
You will receive a freeze fee of 49 kr. per month on the next invoice possible. The freeze fee temporarily replaces your membership payment during the period.
Example: You put your membership on hold in February and March. You then pay a freeze fee per month instead of your membership payment for January and February (or February and March, depending on whether the invoice was created before or after you froze the membership).
Exceptions for serious illness or injury, and pregnancy
If you have a serious illness, have been injured, or if you are pregnant, you can freeze your membership for minimum 1 month and up to 12 months without paying a fee if you upload relevant documentation together with your freeze request.
This is handled by our Member Care team. They delete the documentation permanently after processing the freeze request in accordance with our GDPR-certified processes.
Freeze due to illness or injury can be made retroactively within two months.
Documentation:
Relevant documentation can be a statement from a health authority/health worker (doctor, physiotherapist, chiropractor) stating that you cannot train during the freeze period you have requested.
Important: Never attach documents that contain sensitive information such as information about your medical history.
Reactivation of membership
Your membership is automatically activated on the first day after the freeze period. Via "My Pages" you can choose to reactivate your membership earlier if you wish.
If the freeze period has not started yet, you do not have to pay the freeze fee.
If the freeze period has started and you reactivate your membership earlier, the fee will be divided by the number of paused days in the current month. You will then pay for your normal membership from the reactivation date on the first invoice possible.
Example: Let's assume that you put your membership on hold for the entire month of January, but you reactivate your membership on January 14th. The fee of 49 kr. will be divided by 31 (the total number of days in the month of January) and multiplied by 14 days of freeze (which in this case gives 22kr.). Instead, you pay the regular membership price from January 15th.
